On the Move Organics

• Walk-in cooler
• designed and built by Wojciech and Andrew Sikorski.
• walls were constructed with about a dozen reclaimed exterior-steel-foam-core doors fastened together by reusing the door hinges as structural joining plates through the wooden frames of each door.
• ceiling constructed with a 2x3 pressure-treated wood frame fit with 2 layers of rigid foam and a layer of reflective thermal-wrap.
• small garage entry door also built out of exterior-steel doors and running on an altered garage door track,  Opening and closing mechanism designed and built with a clever combination of reclaimed bicycle parts and old garage door spring assembly.
• cooling unit achieved by using a conventional window air-conditioner mounted on roof with a custom-built boot to drop air properly into cooler.
• Cedar bar-top (4ft x 17ft) custom-built using reclaimed Redwood salvaged from an old Ontario greenhouse.  Installed upon a wall constructed out of recycled hardwood shipping skids.
• Two giant 42in x 84in French doors salvaged from construction waste.
• Entire exterior of retail space trimmed-out with use of standard one-side-rough barn board milled to simulate a sort of post and beam structure.
